Because we are also saltwater hobbyists, we at The Filter Guys understand your filter and DI resin needs! We designed our filter packages to take the guesswork out of purchasing filter arrays. The bonus of using our products is our low prices! We recommend using a five micron poly-sediment filter as a pre-filter to keep your carbon block filters from loading with sediments, but if your source water has problems with very high sediment, we suggest buying extra sediment filters, using 1 micron filters, and changing them more often to keep your system from bogging down. We can also assist you in your special filtering needs, and will gladly discuss with you our system recommendations.

Our high absorption carbon block filters effectively remove chlorine from municipal tap water before it reach your membrane and destroys it. We recommend two-stage carbon filtering systems for chlorine and chloramine and suggest changing carbon and sediment filters every six months,—remember, the filtering ratio of four gallons of waste water is produced compared to one gallon of purified water so high capacity filters are a must. Also, be proactive with your filter system: always have a spare filter set on hand! Present in over 30% of municipal water systems in the country, chloramine requires special filter attention. Our Chloramine Master filters are a superior grade of carbon block and activated catalytic carbon filters for chloramine removal.

For DI filtering we recommend full-size refillable vertical DI color changing resin cartridges and clear housings. Vertical housings offer superior performance with channeling being less of a problem. Our non-color changing resin will produce the highest quality 18 meg ohm water, but we do suggest, when using this product, that an inline dual TDS meter is used to monitor for resin exhaustion.
